Introductory statement

The Office of Legal Affairs is the branch of student government that strives to uphold justice and integrity, both among our elected officers, and to promote such values in the student body as a whole. The Office is composed of an Attorney General, a Deputy Attorney General, and other advisers. If you are interested in working in the legal field, and want some practical experience, please send me a note. We do a lot of work, and can always use helping hands.

Mission

We are committed to protecting the interests of Student Government, and by extension, the students. This includes from legal issues and Florida State Sunshine Law violations, to misuses of the fees that you pay to attend here, as well as a range of support available for students who need help. Above all, we want your Student Government to work functionally, and effectively, (and within the law) to deliver what you as the students deserve, our best efforts from a well oiled and responsive representatives.

Goals

Our Goals for the coming year are ambitious ones, in the inaugural year of the Office of Legal Affairs;

1. Get our school representation on the Florida Student Association

2. Update and perfect the numerous statutory revisions that have happened in the last year to meet the needs of a growing campus

3. Give the Student Supreme Court more jurisdiction to better protect the rights of students

4. Crusade for just, efficient government

5. Protect the rights of each and every student on campus against all comers
